The memorial plaque to 2Lt George Cockburn Robertson, which is now in the entrance vestibule of St James’s United Reformed Church on Pottergate in Alnwick, Northumberland, is made of brass, and is 12in high by 18in wide. It has the emblem of the Durham Light Infantry at the top and has an inscribed decorative border with crosses patances at each corner. Decoration and lettering are both black.
In 2007 the church was undergoing substantial remodelling, and applied to War Memorials Trust for money to remove, store and reposition the three memorials within the church; the plaque for George Cockburn Robertson, the Clayport Presbyterian Church plaque (WM3493) and the marble World War I plaque (WM1991). The Trust gave a total grant of £315 for this work.
