Cheswardine World War 2 war memorial plaque before work © St. Swithuns Church Cheswardine 2003St Swithuns' Church in Cheswardine has a war memorial plaque commemorating those who fell in World War II. It is 21in wide and 21in high.

In 2003 War Memorials Trust supported a conservation project on the plaque, alongside those for the South African War and World War I also within the Church (War Memorials Trust reference WM1063 and WM3214), with a total grant of £300. The plaques were repaired and conserved in line with their indiviudal needs. The plaque commemorating those who fell in World War II had remaining wax removed, green deposits that had acumulated were removed, areas of corrosion were repatinated to match the rest of the plaque and the entire memorial was rewaxed and buffed by hand.
