Two plaques from Great Bowden Congregational Chapel record the fallen of the Parish from the First and Second World Wars. This record deals with the First World War memorial made of Alabaster with mosaic inlay. Details of the Second World War plaque are under record WM3682. In 2005 a project to redevelop the Great Bowden war memorial hall included moving the memorials into the new Committee Room following their removal from the Chapel when it was sold in 2003.

Breat Bowden First World War memorial plaque © D. S. Kenyon, 2007War Memorials Trust gave £125 towards conservation work on the plaque which included some minor repairs and re-lettering, cleaning and installation in their new location.

The First World War plaque was constructed in 1920 by Jones and Willis. It reads:

This tablet is erected to the memory of the Men of this Parish who fell in the World War 1914 - 1919.
