This war memorial consists of a village cross in the form of a lantern with four ogee headed cusped panels, each containing allegorical figures, representing Vicotry, Peace, St George and St Michael. This is resting upon a floral cornice and a tapering octagonal shaft, which is mounted onto a freestone dating from late C14/early C15. It is all constructed from Clipsam Stone. There is a dedicatory inscription along the second steps to the men of the Parish who fought in World War I.
In 2012 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £1,100 towards essential repairs to the war memorial. This included some minor indents on areas of stone which had significantly eroded and were beyond repair. These were replaced with stone to match the memorial. The memorial was re-pointed using a lime mortar to match the memorial and individual letters were sharpened where required.
The memorial was designed by architect, Mr C. A. Rowley of Bristol and Yatton and was constructed by Messrs W. Cowlin and Son of Bristol. It was paid for by public subscription. The memorial is Grade II Listed.
The inscription reads:
In glorious memory of those from this parish who gave their lives for their country, and in honour of those who fought and suffered with them in the Great War, 1914-1919.
