Elmore war memorial is located on the village green. The wheel cross tops a tapered column which stands on a plinth, which is on a two-stepped concrete base. A chain fence surrounds the memorial.
In March 2012 a grant of £287 was offered towards repairs to the stonework. This included cutting out of damaged sections of stone using hand tools to create indents for the insertion of matching stone. The concrete base of the memorial was also damaged, so these sections were cut away and replaced with concrete which
matched the existing as closely as possible. Finally, the chainlink fence was protected with SmartWater. All bedding and pointing was carried out with lime mortar.
The stonework had been damaged by frost, the condition of which had worsened when water seeps into the jointing and causes the stone to fracture.
The memorial was funded through public subscription and dedicated on 2nd October 1921.
