This war memorial is an oak lychgate on stone base with tiled roof. Inscriptions are carved on the main front beam and there are bronze plaques with names inside.
The lychgate is located at the cemetery in Cropwell Butler, Nottinghamshire.
War Memorials Trust gave a grant of £740 to repair areas of rotten timber. These were mainly on the areas where the timber sat on the stone base and was in direct contact with damp conditions. In addition, some of the side wing details had to be replaced. All new timber was stained to match the original.
The lychgate was erected in 1920 and paid for by public subscription. It is dedicated to those who lost their lives on active service in World War I.
