This war memorial is made from grey granite and is in the shape of a wheel cross with carved sword in the centre. There is a stepped plinth with inscriptions in white and black enamelled lettering. The granite elements sit upon a cairn of rough cut flint.
It is located at the top of a steep grassy hill overlooking the village of Garve in the Highlands.
War Memorials Trust gave a grant of £1,023 to re-paint the inscriptions which had become faded due to paint flaking off.
The memorial was built by John Hood & Son and unveiled in 1924 by Colonel Sir Hector Munro.
It is dedicated to those who fell in World War I and names were later added for World War II. The inscription reads, ‘To the glory of God and in sacred memory of the following men...'
