Queen Street Methodist Central Hall in Scarborough has an unusual war memorial organ.
In 2006 it was identified that conservation work was required to the organ following two surveys of the memorial. The swell, great purse rails and books motors required releathering and some additional repairs due to ageing of materials were undertaken. War Memorials Trust contributed £1,500 to the project.
In 2018 War Memorials Trust offered a further grant of £1,130 to undertaken the work recommended by the report. This work included repairs to the pneumatic tubing, repairs to the leather-work, stops and swells.
The memorial was built by Fitton & Hayleyand erected by the ladies of Queen Street Methodist Churchin memory of those who fell and in thanksgiving for the return of others who had served in World War I.
