Melton Mowbray war memorial after works © Melton Mowbray Town Estate, 2008Egerton Lodge War Memorial Gardens are located in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. They are landscaped gardens surrounding Egerton Lodge, a grade II listed residential home for the elderly.

War Memorials Trust gave a grant of £2,500 towards the restoration of the terrace. This included replacing old tarmac with stone paving, cleaning the balustrade and re-pointing the structure with lime mortar.

Melton Mowbray war memorial after works © Melton Mowbray Town Estate, 2008The Gardens were bought in 1929 by Melton Mowbray Town Estate and developed into a permanent memorial of those who fought in both World Wars. The main feature of the Gardens is the upper terrace which has plaques attached to its wall. There are also two flowers beds set out in the shape of a Victoria Cross with ribbon at the base. They were designed to honour Captain Paul Kenna and Lieutenant the Hon. R.H.I.J. De Montmorency who were both members of the 21st Lancers and awarded the Victoria Cross.
