Chesterton war memorial © WMT, 2008Chesterton war memorial lychgate stands at the entrance to St Mary's Church. An inscription is carved into the lintel.

In 2000, £150 supported repairs to the timber frame and re-alignment of the memorial with the stone walls and paths.

The inscription reads:

"1914 – 1919
To the glory of God. A thank offering for victory and peace
In memory of those from this village who fell in the War"
