Colchester's Korean war memorial stands in Lower Castle Park, Castle Park and Gardens. The stone of remembrance is a block of granite cut from a quarry near Seoul.

In 2002 War Memorials Trust contributed £200 to the erection of a new memorial to the 1,078 servicemen who lost their lives in the Korean War.

The stone was brought from Korea by the RAF. It was transported from Aldershot to Colchester by 2 Para. A service took place on Sunday 8th June 2003 where Lord Petre, Lord Lieteutenant of Essex unveiled the memorial. 300 veterans attended the occassion.
