The stone was brought from Korea by the RAF. It was transported from Aldershot to Colchester by 2 Para. A service took place on Sunday 8th June 2003 where Lord Petre, Lord Lieteutenant of Essex unveiled the memorial. 300 veterans attended the occassion.
The inscription on the memorial reads
In memory of all who
served and those that fell
in the Korean War
