Munford (Lyndford Estate) war memorial consists of a small bronze calvary atop a square stone platform. This is mounted on a slender tapering column, upon a square plinth supported by a two-stepped base. The south face of the memorial carries a World War I dedication whilst the west face records the five men from Mundford that died during World War I, two during World War II and one in Northern Ireland since 1945. The north and east faces record three from West Tofts, four from Cranwich and six from Lynford who died in World War I. The war memorial is located on the roadside at the junction between the A134 and the A1065 in Mundford. It is Grade II listed.
In 2025, £3,610 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme supported by voluntary donations. It assisted repairs to address significant cracking that had been discovered at the top of the column which had been caused by corroded iron fixings. During works, the condition of the stone was discovered to be worse than previously believed and the decision was taken to replace, like-for-like, the top part of the column. The war memorial was also re-pointed in lime mortar and cracks in some of the steps on the base were repaired.
The memorial was dedicated on 21st November 1920.
The inscription on the memorial reads:
To those
from the Lynford Estate
who fell gloriously
for their country
in the Great War
1914 – 1918
