St Mary’s Church in Bridport, Dorset is located on South Street. The church is in a conservation area and Grade I listed. Within the church tower of there are a total of 8 bells, of which two are dedicated war memorials.

In 2025, a grant of £2,200 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme supported by voluntary donations. It supported repair and conservation works which included cleaning and conserving the main bearings as well as the housing of the bells.

SmartWater was also applied to the war memorial as part of the In Memoriam 2014 project seeking to deter the theft of metal from war memorials.

The bells were cast and hung by Mears and Stainbank in 1925. Bell number 5 commemorates 2nd Lt Thomas David Colfox who died on 14th June 1918 aged 19 years old and Bell number 1 commemorates Edward Humphries who is believed to have been killed in action in 1914.
