Claverley war memorial is located within the grounds of the Chyknell Hall estate in Claverley. The memorial is an altar-like structure comprising a wooden gable-roofed triptych surmounting a red sandstone plinth and base. Below the roof are three hardwood panels, the outer two of which are turned inwards. The central panel carries a Roll of Honour of the 34 fallen from world War I and the outer panels bear the date ‘Aug.4th 1914 - Nov. 11th 1918’. Directly under the gabled roof is a relief of two carved, kneeling angels, with gilded golden halos and a sun rising between them. On top of plinth, in front of the rectangular inset is a flower holder. Later metal plaques attached to back of triptych list the names of all locals who served (202 names in all). The memorial sits in a small peaceful remembrance garden enclosed by yew hedging with red sandstone paving.

In 2020, a Poor Condition Report was added to War Memorials Online following which a Pre-application and subsequent grant application was received from the custodians.

In February 2021, a Grant Offer of £3,350 was offered through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme towards conservation and repair works. Specialist timber conservation work was undertaken to the structure and the inscription panels were treated with linseed oil and the lettering and relief were re-gilded. The timber shingle roof which had reached the end of its useful life was also replaced to match the original design of the memorial. Best conservation practice requires the maximum retention of original fabric however timber shingles which are perishable and serve a practical purpose as a roof covering for protection against the elements. As such, they have a limited useful life and replacement becomes necessary over time, retaining the original design and employing a traditional heritage skill. In addition, SmartWater was applied as part of In Memoriam 2014 to help deter metal theft.

The inscriptions read:

After
the darkness
light
Roll of honour
Aug.
4th

Nov.
11th
1918
Men

On the flower holder it reads:
