Penn fields, Bradmore & Merry Hill war memorial is constructed of granite and comprises a figure of a uniformed serviceman holding his rifle at the ready. The figure surmounts a granite pedestal of squared and margined rusticated masonry blocks with recessed polished-granite plaques to all sides with incised lettering inscriptions. The pedestal sits on a two stepped base within an area of green on Church Road opposite the Church of St Phillip in Penn Fields, Wolverhampton.
In 2021, the memorial received a grant of £6,500 towards conservation and repair works from War Memorials Trust through Grants for War Memorials. The rifle from the memorial was missing and there had been a significant loss of lime-mortar pointing. A new rifle was created to reinstate the original design of the memorial. The construction joints were re-pointed using lime mortar. Faded lettering was also re-painted to match the original design. In addition, encroaching roots from large trees in vicinity had caused some damage to the base of the memorial. A damaged corner piece of granite was re-attached using stainless-steel pins and a large corner section which had been displaced was repositioned. To mitigate further such issues, a root barrier was installed near to the base of the memorial.
The inscription reads:
