St Lawrence’s war memorial is a stained glass window. It is the east window of St Lawrence’s Church, Chapel Hill, Preston. The memorial is in St Lawrence Conservation Area.

In 2018, a grant of £10,520 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme supported by the First World War Memorials Programme. It supported repair and conservation works which included in situ conservation of the stained glass and lead panes. Carrying out the works in situ reduces the risk to the fabric of the memorial window. The first stage was to clean the window to remove corrosive products on the lead panes and remove surface build up on the glass. This allowed a full assessment of the condition of the glass and identification of damaged panes which could then be removed for repair or replacement to secure the long-term future of the window. On completion of these repairs the external secondary protective glazing was renewed.

SmartWater was also applied to the metal elements of the war memorial as part of the In Memoriam 2014 project seeking to deter the theft of metal from war memorials.

The memorial window was designed by Shrigley and Hunt of Lancaster. It depicts St George on the left-hand panel and St Michael on the right. Nearby on the chancel wall is a plaque bearing the names of the fallen from the First and Second World War.
