Grove Academy World War I memorial is a bronze plaque with raised lettering. It is located at Grove Academy in Broughty Ferry.

In 2018, a grant of £1,250 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme supported by the First World War Memorials Programme. Works were undertaken simultaneously to this memorial and Grove Academy WWII plaque. The grant supported repair and conservation works which included cleaning of both bronze panels and the removal of a painted layer from the World War I memorial. Treatment was then applied to the back of both bronze plaques, and a further treatment applied to the plaques with tri-ammonium citrate to deter corrosion. The plaques were then re-patinated with 1 coat pigmented carnauba wax and 3 coats of pigmented micro-crystalline wax. Two letters on the World War I plaque were replaced.

SmartWater was also applied to the war memorial as part of the In Memoriam 2014 project seeking to deter the theft of metal from war memorials.

The memorial was unveiled on the 7th April 1920. Alexander Hutt, the Rector, chaired the proceedings of the unveiling.

The inscription on the WWI memorial reads:

“This tablet is erected to the memory
of the boys of this school who died in
the service of their country during the
Great War, 1914-1919”
