Rumney war memorial is located at Wentloog Road in Rumney, Cardiff. The memorial hall has a Portland limestone monolith standing outside. It is decorative details are carved into the stone which has a main inlaid polished granite plaque with additional, later plaques added towards the foot. The gilded incised inscriptions commemorate those who died in World War I and II.
In 2017, a grant of £510 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme alongside a grant of £2,444 from Cadw's Grants for War Memorials scheme. The funding helped steam clean the memorial. The jointed were re-pointed with lime mortar whilst stone repairs were undertaken and missing paving replaced. The lettering was re-gilded to improve legibility. While the railings and gates were repainted. As part of the In Memoriam 2014 initiative SmartWater was applied to all metal elements to deter theft.
The memorial was unveiled on 19th March 1924 by Marchioness of Bute, Lord Tredegar, Mr L. Forestier-Walker MP, the Venerable Arch Deacon of Monmouth, Mrs Ivor Griffin and Mrs Fred Howell. Two thousand people were present at the unveiling. The architect was Mr W. T. Gough. The Building Committee included Messrs Charles, Handford & Shute with Mr Charles supervising the works. Mr Eglen carried out the ground works. Originally a flower bed was laid around the cenotaph and this was maintained until 1954 when it was paved over.
