WM8786 Yardley Wood cross before works © Christ Church Yardley Wood PCC, 2017Yardley Wood war memorial is located at Christ Church on School Road in Yardley Wood, Birmingham. It is a stone cross on a square shaft that stands on a three-stepped base. This is sited on a grass mound with two further steps below. The incised inscriptions painted white on slate plaques commemorate those who died in World War I and II.

In 2017 a grant of £3,350 was awarded through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme to clean the memorial with steam, re-point with lime mortar, re-paint the of inscriptions to make them legible and partially replace sections of the stone steps to match the existing.
