The category C listed war memorial consists of a large battered coursed rubble stone plinth with inscription panels which is surmounted by a carved stone kilted soldier with full kit and slung rifle. The memorial is surrounded by a low stone walled bench-type enclosure of post and lintel construction with pairs of simple rough-hewn square piers surmounted by planters to the West and East forming entrances. An intervening cobbled/pebbled paving has the inscription, Lest We Forget. The memorial is located at the southern entrance to Killin and is located close to the famous Falls of Dochart.
In 2017 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £2,240 for 
conservation and repair works. The memorial had a number of open and cracked construction joints and biological growth on the monument and surrounding hard landscaping was an issue. In addition elements of the stone benches had moved opening up the construction joints. The grant funding has assisted in undertaking appropriate hand cleaning of the memorial and the landscaping and well as repointing in a lime mortar. The stone beaches have been realigned and repointed.
The memorial was sculpted by Alexander Carrick and unveiled on 29th October 1920. Inscription to the South elevation reads, '1914-1919 To the glory of God and in honoured memory of (names) 1939-1945 (names). Further names are recorded on panels to the W
est and East elevations.
