St German’s Cathedral war memorial is located within the Cathedral grounds, Peel, Isle of Man. This memorial is a Runic style cross of Woolton sandstone on a three tier plinth. The inscriptions on inlaid slate plaques commemorate those who died in World War I and II. It is listed by virtue of being within the curtilage of the listed cathedral and is within the Peel Conservation Area.
In 2017 a grant of £720 was awarded through the War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme to remove existing flaking paint from the inscription lettering, coat with a layer of size and repaint silver enamel by hand to match existing.
The sculptor was Mr T. H. Royston of Douglas, Isle of Man. The memorial was unveiled by Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man, Sir W. Fry and dedicated by the Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann on 20th April 1922.
