Nazeing Congregational Church WWI war memorial is located in the Village and Parish of Nazeing, Essex. The memorial consists of a stone plaque commemorating local men who died in the First World War and is fixed to the exterior of Nazeing Congregational Church.
In 2017, a grant of £600 was offered through the War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme towards a condition survey and report with recommendations to inform necessary conservation and repair works which was undertaken by a conservation-accredited Conservator.
In March 2018, a grant of £590 was offered through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme towards emergency dismantling as the memorial was deemed unsafe as highlighted in the professional advice report. The memorial will be re-inspected prior to its conservation, repair and reinstatement.
In August 2018, a further award of £1,710 through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme supported the removal of old fixings and their replacement with new Stainless Steel ones. Cleaning was undertaken and the plaque replaced on the wall.
