Pleasley war memorial is located at the Pleasley Miners Welfare Club on Chesterfield Road North in Pleasley. The memorial is a granite ashlar cenotaph in regular coursed blocks, rectangular in plan with a stepped plinth and moulded base, set on to a concrete base. The inscription is in raised lead lettering painted black commemorating those who died in World War I and World War II. It is a Grade II listed structure and located in the Pleasley Village Conservation Area.
In 2016 a grant of £1,460 was offered through War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme towards repair and conservation works supported by the First World War Memorials Programme. The memorial was steam cleaned. Repair were undertaken to the lead lettering and where needed they were re-paint to make the inscription more legible in-line with the evidence that they were painted previously. Finally, as part of the In Memoriam 2014 initiative it was confirmed that SmartWater had been applied to protect against theft.
The memorial was erected in the grounds of Pleasley Miners Welfare Club by the Stanton Iron and Steel Company around 1919. The names of the men commemorated by the memorial are inscribed on a board hung on the wall in the Miners Welfare Club.
