This war memorial consists of a latin cross constructed from rough granite standing on a square plinth and an octagonal two-stepped base with dedication inscriptions on all sides in memory of the men of the Town who were lost during World War I and World War II. It is surrounded by metal railings and stone posts and is located in the Village Square of Ipplepen, Newton Abbot, Devon.
In March 2012 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £1,809 to provide a 1.5 metre raised buffer zone outside the existing war memorial railings, with granite setts and bollards to prevent large vehicles from damaging the war memorial, which had been hit by lorries 3 times since November 2010.
The memorial was created by F. Horn in July 1920. It cost £85 and was paid for by public subscription.
