Staunton-on-Wye war memorial before work © Staunton-on-Wye Parish Council, 2005Staunton on Wye war memorial stands by the roadside on an elevated piece of land surrounded by a fence. The polished granite pillar is surmounted by an orb. Two steps lead up from the roadside to the memorial.

£250 from the Small Grants Scheme in 2005 assisted the local community with a conservation project. To improve access and safety the steps up to, and the surroundings of, the war memorial were replaced with a hard-core base and new paving. This ensured those visiting the memorial could do so safelt.
