Malpas war memorial is located in the churchyard of St Oswald's on Church Street in Malpas conservation area. Constructed of red Hollington stone it is a medieval design in keeping with the church. A three-stepped octagonal base leads up to a base upon which are plaques carrying inscriptions and names. Above is an octagonal column supporting a canopy with four sculptured panels showing Victory, St George, a sailor and a soldier topped by a cross.
In 2005, a Small Grants Scheme offer of £300 was made towards repairs to the top of the cross. The top section was removed, the dowel was removed and replaced with a stainless steel fixing.
The memorial was suggested at a public meeting in 1919. It was paid for by public subscription. The unveiling and dedication took place on 29th February 1920 lead by the Bishop of Chester.
