In 2014 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £630 towards the conservation of this memorial. The memorial was cleaned using non-metallic bristle brushes and water to remove the vegetative growth, open joints were re-pointed using a non-cementitious lime mortar and the damaged area of stone was repaired using matching stone, pieced in and joined using non-cementitious lime mortar. Where required, some letters were sharpened up using hand tools and the plaques were cleaned with water, sponges and non-metallic brushes and sealed with microcrystalline wax.Weedon war memorial before grant works © Weedon Parish Council 2014
