Methwold war memorial before work © Methwold Parish Council, 2014Methwold war memorial is an obelisk located in Methwold cemetery. The names of the men that fell during the First and Second World Wars are listed, along with commemorative inscriptions.

In 2014 a grant of £511 was offered through the Small Grants Scheme towards cleaning and repair works. As the inscriptions were becoming illegible, the memorial was cleaned using natural bristle brushes and low pressure water washing and the letters re-painted to enhance the inscriptions. Cracks in the concrete skirt, at the base of the memorial, were re-pointed using lime mortar.
