Routh war memorial clock © All Saints PCC, 2013This war memorial consists of a memorial clock erected in memory of the men of Routh who lost their lives in World War I. The clock face is cast iron with sunken numerals and hands gilt in gold leaf.

In 2013 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £1000 towards repairs to the clock. This included removal of the face and hands, which were accessed by a scissor lift platform. Once taken to a Routh war memorial clock © All Saints PCC, 2013workshop they were shot blasted and an epoxy powder coating was applied then a 23 ½ carat gold leaf. Following these works the items were delivered back to the site and refit. Due to the weight of the cast iron clockface (approximately ¼ ton) reassembly was undertaken with the aid of a geared chain lifting system.

The memorial clock was erected in 1919 at a cost of £100 and was manufactured by W.M. Potts & Sons.Routh war memorial clock © All Saints PCC, 2013
