Chute war memorial © Chute Parish Council, 2012This war memorial consists of a Portland Stone Wheel Cross located on a village green in Chute. It is inscribed with dedications to the men of the Parish who have lost their lives in World War I and World War II.

In 2013, War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £375 towards works to the lettering on the memorial. This included localised sharpening up of the letters using hand tools where they had become illegible. The inscriptions were then re-painted as per the original lettering. Two plastic repairs were undertaken using lime mortar to match the stone of the memorial.

The memorial was unveiled in 1920, sculptor and designer unknown.Chute war memorial © Chute Parish Council, 2013
