Friston war memorial © Friston PC, 2013In 2012, War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £615 towards repairs to the stonework, which had begun to shed and fracture in places. The repairs involved piecing in new pieces of identical stone on a minimal basis to reduce the amount of replacement of original fabric. The joints of the memorial were also raked out and re-pointed using a colour-matched lime mortar.
