This war memorial consists of a plain cross on a tapered plinth and a two stepped base, all constructed from Limestone. The memorial is located adjacent to the Holy Cross Churchyard, Ramsbury, Wiltshire.
In 2012, War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £350 towards conservation and repair of the memorial. This included cleaning of the memorial using non-abrasive cloths and water and wooden scrapers to remove the lichen. A poultice was applied to one area of the stone which was heavily stained. The stone flags were re-pointed using a non-cementitious mortar.
The inscription on the memorial reads:
Remember
the men of Ramsbury
who died in the
Great Wars
True love by life, true love by death, is tried;
live thou for England, these for England Died
