Langford war memorial before grant works © Langford Parish Council, 2011Langford war memorial is located on the village green. It consists of a simple Latin cross, the shaft and arms of which are octagonal in form. The plinth is inscribed on the cardinal and north-west faces and the north face of the middle step is also inscribed; the memorial commemorates those killed in both World Wars. The memorial is constructed of local stone and located within a conservation area.

In 2011, a grant of £642 was offered through the Small Grants Scheme towards cleaning and repair works. The memorial was cleaned using de-ionised water and non-metallic brushes. Fractured stone was repaired with stainless steel dowels and resin. Joints were raked out by hand-tools and re-pointed with a lime mortar mix blended to match in colour, texture and strength and water traps had lime mortar repairs.Langford war memorial after grant works © Langford Parish Council, 2011

This war memorial received a further grant of £240 towards conservation works from War Memorials Trust in 2019 with the delaminating face of the stonework repaired using a lime consolidant.

A roll of honour associated with this memorial, in the form of a scroll, can be found in the porch of St Matthew's Church.
