Framsden war memorial is located in St Mary’s Churchyard on Church Row. The Portland stone memorial is a simple rectangular stone on a two-stepped base. The memorial is dedicated to those killed in World Wars I and II and the inscriptions are incised onto the front face of the memorial and painted black. There are carvings on the memorial of a wreath and cross. The memorial is located within the grounds of the Grade I listed Church.
In 2011, the Trust gave a grant of £550 towards improving the legibility of the inscriptions which had largely become illegible. This involved cleaning the memorial with de-ionised water and non-metallic brushes and the application of a quaternary ammonium-based biocide. Once the memorial was cleaned it allowed for the assessment of the condition of the inscriptions and those that were still illegible were re-cut or sharpened by hand and all were painted with black enamel paint. Any opened or failed joints were raked out by hand and re-pointed with lime mortar. As the Church is listed a Faculty was required for the works.
The memorial was designed by Mr E. E. Saunders of Cemetery Road, Ipswich and was unveiled and dedicated on 31st October 1920. A short service in the Church was led by the Rev. W. Hugh Wood with the Sermon by the Venerable Archdeacon of Suffolk. During a hymn the congregation moved to the Churchyard where the Archdeacon said a prayer and Sir Arthur Churchman MP gave a speech. Mr W. Howell said a prayer on behalf of the non-conformists of the village.
The inscriptions on the memorial read:
