Crowton war memorial after work © Crowton Parish Council 2006The war memorial in the mid Cheshire village of Crowton stands on a small lawn set back from Ainsworth Lane. The memorial is a Celtic cross on a four-stepped plinth with a base. The cross and the wheel have inscribed decoration, and there is a small area of similar decoration beneath the dedication on the shaft. A rail surrounds the memorial, supported on pillars at the four edges of the base.

In April 2005 War Memorials Trust gave £250 towards re-cutting and re-painting the lettering on the memorial.

The inscription on the shaft of the cross reads
