Memorial prior to conservation work © Week St Mary Parish Council, 2009Week St Mary war memorial is located in the Square. It is a Celtic wheel cross constructed of granite with a concrete base and is bordered by a low chain-link fence. There is a bas-relief sword with the blade down carved on the front of the shaft of the memorial.  The memorial records both those who served and fell in the two World Wars. The memorial is not listed but is located within a conservation area.

In 2009, War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £367 towards works to clean the memorial with low pressure water and non-metallic bristle brushes to remove any damaging deposits, improve legibility of the lettering and allow for the other works to be undertaken but also these methods allowed the memorial to retain some of its patina of age and not to cause any damage to the historic masonry or introducing damaging substances such as soluble salts. In addition, Memorial following conservation work © Week St Mary Parish Council, 2010the lettering was rubbed down and re-painted in black as original; defective joints were raked out by hand and re-pointed with hydraulic lime mortar; the concrete steps were repaired with matching colour and textured concrete as well as like-for-like repairs to the posts and chains surrounding the memorial.

The memorial was paid for by public subscription. It was made by Bodmin Granite Company Ltd and unveiled 6th December 1919 by Sir George Croydon Marks MP. The names of those killed in World War II were added in 1948.
