Weeley war memorial before work © Weeley Parish Council, 2005Weeley war memorial is a rough cut Portland stone cross stood on a tappering plinth. On the plinth are recorded an inscription and the names of the fallen. The memorial stands on the corner of Clacton and Bentley roads in Weeley.

The surrounding wall of the memorial was damaged by a vehicle. In 2005 War Memorials Trust gave £200 towards the repairs required which ensured the wall that protects the memorial could again fulfill its purpose.

In 2013 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £420 towards cleaning of the memorial using non-metallic bristle brushes and water and re-pointing of the open joints using a lime mortar.

The memorial was unveiled on 26th June 1920 by Brigadier-General G. Metcalfe, Commander of Royal Artillery 4th Division at Colchester. It was dedicated by Revd F Beadel, Rector of Great Holland and the Chairman of Tendring Rural District Council.
