The memorial is located in the dedicated memorial green on the main High Street.
In 2009, War Memorials Trust gave a grant of £1,390 towards conservation and repair works to the memorial. This included cleaning the memorial with the DOFF steam cleaning system and the cleaning of the bronze plaques by hand and the application of microcrystalline wax. Vertical cracks on the shaft of the cross were repaired with lime mortar; lime mortar repairs were also employed for the eroded surfaces on the memorial. Any defective joints were also re-pointed with hydraulic lime mortar. The steps and paving to the memorial were weeded and any defective joints were re-pointed with lime mortar. A cracked section of the paving was repaired with the use of stainless steel pins.
