Bryanston Street war memorial © WMT, 2011This war memorial is in the form of a teak crucifix on a Portland stone plinth. The figure of Christ is gilded. The memorial is surrounded by iron railings and there are two Portland stone plaques on the wall of the church behind listing the names of the fallen. The memorial is located adjacent to the Church of the Annunciation, Bryanston Street, Marylebone, London. This is a Grade II* listed church.

In 2007/8 English Heritage and the Wolfson Foundation offered a grant of £2,660 towards work to clean the plinth and re-point any open joints, clean and repair the wooden cross and clean the gilding.

In 2024 the memorial received a War Memorials Trust grant of £20,000 through Grants for War Memorials scheme supported by Historic England. The memorial was cleaned using a specialist steam cleaning system. The figure of Christ was cleaned and regilded. The construction joints of the plinth and the brick behind the memorial were carefully raked out to remove loose and flaking mortar and then re-pointed using a lime mortar, and damaged brickwork was carefully cut-out and replaced to match the originals. The timber cross was treated with tung oil and the damaged zinc roof covering was replaced. The inscribed plaques were cleaned and the lead to their hood mouldings was replaced. The kerb afront the memorial was reset and repointed to match the original profile and the ironwork railings were restored to their original design.

The inscription reads on the plinth of the memorial:

"Of your charity pray for
these who gave their lives
in the Great War 1914-1918
R.I.P
Their name liveth for evermore"

The memorial was dedicated around 1920. The design is by Sir Walter Tapper, a British architect known for his Gothic Revival churches, including the Church of the Annunciation, built in 1912.
