Bluntisham-cum-Earith war memorial © Bluntisham Parish Council, 2008 The memorial in the central Cambridgeshire village of Bluntisham-cum-Earith, on the southern edge of the Fens, stands on the village green on Rectory Road, near St Mary’s church. It is a rough granite wheel cross on a plinth on a three-stepped base. The faces of the plinth are polished and inscribed with a dedication and the names of the fallen. There is also commemorative text at the base of the shaft.

In 2007 English Heritage and the Wolfson Foundation paid £300 towards work to clean the memorial of lichen and surface deposits, to rake out and re-point failed joints and to apply biocide.

The World War I dedication reads

"This cross was erected
by public subscription
in grateful memory of
the men belonging to
Bluntisham and Earith
who gave their lives
in the Great War
1914 – 1918"

The other three sides of the plinth are inscribed with the names of the fallen. Above this inscription, on the base of the shaft, is the commemoration of World War II;

"1939 – 1945
P.L. Coulson
A.J. Dearman
A.J. Flack
E.G. Hinkins
E.O. Moore
F.J. Moore
M.L. Vinter
A.K. Ward
D.W. Gardiner"

The memorial was created in 1921 at the junction of Hollidays Road and Rectory Road. It was moved to its present location in the late 1980s after being hit by vehicles numerous times.
