West Hallam war memorial after cleaning and repair © West Hallam Parish Council, 2014West Hallam war memorial stands outside St Winifred's Church on Beech Lane. A sculpture of two soldiers with a Vickers Machine Gun in Italian marble stands on a Derbyshire Gritstone plinth upon which are panels with names and inscriptions. The whole structure is on a three stepped base with a laurel wreath and two additional plaques placed upon the steps. The memorial is Grade II listed.

FWest Hallam war memorial before stone consolidation © West Hallam Parish Council, 2014ollowing an earlier grant in 2008, a grant of £1,832 was offered through the Small Grants Scheme in 2014 towards cleaning and repair works. Cleaning with brushes was undertaken to remove biological growth and various poultices were trialled to reduce staining on the inscription panels, although no suitable treatment was established and so the stainiWest Hallam war memorial after stone consolidation © West Hallam Parish Council, 2014ng remains. Areas of stone disintegration were consolidated and loose jointing was re-pointed.

The memorial was unveiled on 6th August 1921 by Captain Fitzherbert Wright and rededicated on 8th November 1998.
