West Moors Celtic cross war memorial is constructed of Portland stone. It stands in the centre of the village on the Petwyn; a grass area awarded village green status in June 2006.
Following work to improve the village a conservation project on the war memorial was proposed in 2006. War Memorials contributed £1,250 towards works which included repairs to the paving around the war memorial to make it safer, conservation of the base of the war memorial and cleaning of the stonework.
The memorial was originally erected in 1920, and dedicated on 26th September. It was built by Masons Messrs Alsford. It stood at the junction of Station Road and Pinehurst Road but was moved in June 1971 to place the memorial in a more prominant position on the green and improve the traffic sight line at the junction where it had been erected. When the memorial was moved it was restored and the Second World War names were added.
The memorial has been tended by the Parish Council since it was formed in 1956.
