Marshwood war memorial stands on the roadside of the B3165 in a small hedged area the village. The granite cross is supported by a plinth and a two stepped base. Carved inscriptions on the plinth are infilled with black enamel. It is sited in a conservation area.
In 2006 a grant of £170 was offered to support a project to conserve the memorial. Works included repairs to damaged stonework with lime mortar, re-pointing using lime mortar, repainting the inscription with black enamel and cleaning with water and soft bristle brushes.
The inscription on the memorial reads:
To the Glory of God
and in memory of those
who died in the Great War, 1914-1918
This is followed by the names of the Fallen of World War I and one name from the Second World War.
