Marshwood war memorial before work © Upper Marshwood Vale PC 2006Marshwood war memorial stands on the roadside of the B3165 in  a small hedged area the village. The granite cross is supported by a plinth and a two stepped base. Carved inscriptions on the plinth are infilled with black enamel. It is sited in a conservation area.

In 2006 a grant of £170 was offered to support a project to conserve the memorial. Works included repairs to damaged stonework with lime mortar, re-pointing using lime mortar, repainting the inscription with black enamel and cleaning with water and soft bristle brushes.

To the Glory of God
and in memory of those
who died in the Great War, 1914-1918

This is followed by the names of the Fallen of World War I and one name from the Second World War.
