Waddington war memorial cross © M. Charlton, 2010Waddington’s war memorial stands on Slaidburn Road, near to a brook that runs through the center of the village. The Lancashire village is a Conservation Area. The memorial cross is a Celtic wheel above a shaft which stands on a dry stone wall effect base upon which are tablets recording names and inscriptions.

The retaining wall to the brook, near to the war memorial was identified as deteriorating which was leading to subsidence of the memorial. War Memorials Trust contributed £150 to a project to repair the wall which was completed in 2001. Waddington war memorial cross © M. Charlton, 2010
