Abersychan and Pontypool war memorial © C Jones 2009Abersychan and Pontypool Memorial Gates stand at the entrance to the Park on Hanbury Road. They are constructed of wrought iron and have associated plaques.

In 2000 both plaques and gates were vandalised. War Memorials Trust contributed £150 towards repairs.

The memorial remembers those of the First and Second World Wars as well as 2 who fell in the Korean War.

Abersychan and Pontypool war memorial © C Jones 2009The memorial was unveiled on 27th December 1924 by Major General Lord Treowen and dedicated by the Archdeadon of Monmouth.
