In 1999 the local community identified the need for conservation work on the memorial. War Memorials Trust gave £200 to the project. Repairs, including to the damaged column, were undertaken and the memorial was cleaned.

The memorial is inscribed:

A.D. 1914 - 1918

In memory of our Glorious Dead
