Primrose Hill war memorial © WMT, 2009The war memorial at St Mary's Church in Primrose Hill is a shrine above which stands a sculpture. Names are inscribed in the stone on the sides of the shrine.

In 1999 the sandstone was deteriorating. Work was undertaken to repair the memorial and prevent the loss of the names which were fading. Cleaning, general repairs and repointing was also undertaken.

The memorial originally had a calvary figure at its top but in 1988 it was replaced by a ‘Mother and Child’ sculpture by Philip Turner.

The memorial records fallen for the First and Second World Wars as well as the Falklands War.
