Barnack's war memorial takes the form of a cross, three steps lead up to the plinth upon which it stands. The memorial is on Stamford Road in Barnack.
In 1999 the Barnack branch of the Royal British Legion began a campaign to conserve the memorial. Public subscriptions were sought and War Memorials Trust gave £200.00. The memorial was refurbished with new plaques and a flag pole was added in the vicinity of the memorial.
Following the work undertaken the memorial was rededicated in June 2000. The service used replicated that of the original dedication in 1921 and those attending the service undertook the same responsibilities as those who had fulfilled the roles in 1921. The Last Post and a Lament were played whilst the bells of the local 1,000 year old Saxon church were rung as the names of the fallen were read aloud.
Out of a total population of 800 in 1914, the village of Barnack lost 36 men. A further 6 names were added to the war memorial following the Second World War and Falklands campaign. This cross was erected by Alfred Webster.
The inscription on the memorial reads:
To the Glory
of God and in
memory of
the Barnack
men who fell
in the Great
War 1914 - 1919
Jesu Mercy
1939 - 1945
