At St Peter's Church in Shackerstone the war memorials take the form of stained glass windows. There are windows for both World War I and II.
As part of a community project to restore the Grade II* parish church work needed to be done to replace the protective grill on the outside of the World War I memorial and the window required cleaning. War Memorials Trust contributed £650 to the project and new stainless steel weld mesh guards, complete with stainless steel fixings were successfully fitted.
Photographs show the stained glass window, the exterior before and after the new grill was installed and the memorial window's dedication.
The World War I memorial was unveiled on 21 August 1920 by Sir Samuel Waring. The dedication was led by Reverend T. W. Walters. The World War II memorial window is dedicated to Lieutenant John Keith Richards who was killed in action, 10th August 1943.
