Meriden war memorial after work © WMT, 2002Meriden war memorial calvary stands in the village on Berkswell Road about a mile from St Laurence Parish Church. A stone base supports a timber cross with canopy beneath which is a 5ft cast iron figure of Christ.  It commemorates the fallen of both World Wars.

In 1998, a local Committee undertook a project to repair the war memorial. The figure of Christ had been stolen in the mid 1990's and was recovered in 1997. It had been donated by a widow to comemmorate the fallen after World War I. The local community sought to repair and return the figure to the memorial and also undertake repairs to the memorial including re-pointing, cleaning and improving the area around the memorial to ensure safe access. The project received £250 from the Small Grants Scheme.

In 2021 a further grant was offered of £1,830 through Grants for War Memorials towards conservation and repair works. The memorial was cleaned using a DOFF steam cleaning system and timber was treated using linseed oil. Construction joints were re-pointed using a lime mortar and the Christ -figure was repainted to match the original design.

Since 1948 the memorial has been in the care of the Trustees of the Meriden Village War Memorial.
